March for Science Charleston Set for Earth Day

Published

on

Scientists and science lovers on six continents will march on Earth Day, April 22nd, to show legislators the importance of science and scientists in policy-making. The March for Science – Charleston is a sister event to the March for Science – Washington, D.C.

Marchers will meet at 1 pm in three locations before marching on sidewalks to Liberty Square at the South Carolina Aquarium for a 2 pm non-partisan rally.

Meeting locations are Marion Square, the Four Corners of Law, and the Visitors Center. Marchers are asked to:

  • Bring a water bottle
  • Consider wearing a nametag with your name, science interest, and zip code. (The zip code lets legislators know you are their constituents)
  • Display a non-partisan, science-related sign
  • Share your participation on social media with the hashtags #sciencemarch #marchforscience and #marchforscienceCHS.

Learn more about the Charleston March for Science on their website.

Any funds remaining after March for Science –Charleston bills are paid will go to the Lowcountry STEM Collaborative, which publicizes and organizes STEM activities around the Lowcountry and produces the Lowcountry STEM Festival.
