Add another to the list! Park Circle will soon be home to a production brewery and tap house. Business and brewing partners Pearce Fleming and Hank Hanna announced last week that Commonhouse Aleworks will soon break ground on the corner of O’Hear and Empire Avenues.

According to the duo, the brewery’s name is an allusion to the old colonial common houses which were the focal point of the community where all the town’s people could gather together for communal meals, to discuss local issues, conduct religious worship, and engage in town business.

The 7,200 square foot facility will be very close to the new GARCO Mill redevelopment.  It will include:

  • An initial annual capacity of 5,000 barrels of beer
  • 1,100 square foot tap house
  • Several core beers
  • Special releases

Fleming and Hanna have already notched multiple wins in local, regional, and national homebrew competitions. Their Wise One Hefeweizen, which will be available at the new brewery, was chosen for the final judging table in the GABF Pro-Am competition in Denver in October 2016.

Commonhouse Aleworks is expected to open in the late fall of 2017. For more information, visit www.commonhousealeworks.com. The brewers have also been documenting their journey from homebrewers to commercial brewers at the website: www.planningtobrew.com.
