Reverb Charleston to Close on January 31st

Reverb Charleston, located at the Pacific Box & Crate development on Charleston’s Upper Peninsula, will close its doors on January 31^st, 2018.

Owner/director Ashley Bell opened Reverb Charleston in April 2017 with the goal of making yoga more accessible and approachable for Charlestonians through carefully curated programming and a sliding scale class pricing (drop-in rate of $5 – $15 per person). Designed as a yoga studio by The Middleton Group, Reverb Charleston’s unique space includes three polycarbonate walls, creating beautiful light effects. However, limited sound insulation from merry-makers visiting the two neighboring businesses, Workshop and Edmund’s Oast Brewing Company, proved to create growth limitations due to audible constraints affecting the experience for Reverb customers.

During its short time in operation, Reverb introduced many new students to yoga, but it also served as a way for two local charities to receive additional funds and grow community. Thousands of dollars were raised for Enough Pie and Friends of the Charleston Center through specialty classes at Reverb, for which all fees were passed along to these charitable organizations.

For now, Bell will close Reverb Charleston, although she will continue her community outreach through Reverb Charitable Giving Inc.

A limited schedule will be offered at Reverb Charleston through January 31^st, during which time all current class passes and memberships will be honored.  The classes are open to the public, and space may be reserved online, or students may pay a self-selected drop-in rate of $5 – $15 in person before class. Reverb Charleston is located at 1503 King Street Extension, Suite 200.
