1. A dedication ceremony for the SC Gold Star Families Monument provided by the Hershel
   “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation will be held on Saturday (1/27) at 10:30 am. The event is free and open to the public. Parking is also free. The monument recognizes and honors South Carolina Gold Star families who have sacrificed a loved one in support of America’s freedom through every conflict since World War I.The event will be held near the cannons at Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum.Click here for more information.

2. Rice Field Walk and Talk, The Ponds Conservancy event previously announced for this Sunday (1/28), is being rescheduled due to the forecast of rain. The rescheduled date is Sunday, February 25th from 2 pm to 4 pm.

3. The American Marketing Association, Charleston Chapter (AMA Charleston) announced a new category in this year’s Spark! Awards, recognizing the outstanding creative achievements of Charleston area marketers. The Giving Award will commend the work of an individual or company based in the tri-county area that has donated a marketing service(s) to a nonprofit organization. Entries may be submitted until January 31 at charlestonama.org/spark. See the website for more details.

4. The New York Yankees have announced that Julio Mosquera has been named the manager of the Charleston RiverDogs, becoming the 18^th to hold the title in club history. The former big-league backstop enters his third season as a skipper with the Yankees, earning his first managerial position at the Class A level. Click here for more info.
