2018 Walk for Water to be held at North Charleston’s Riverfront Park
On Saturday, March 17th, local charity Water Mission will host their annual “Walk For Water” at Riverfront Park in North Charleston. Opening ceremonies start at 9 am.
After opening ceremonies, every participant will take a 2-Gallon bucket (provided at the event) and begin to walk a three-mile route. Halfway through the route, walkers fill their bucket with dirty water (to your desired level) and carry it back to the park. The walk is symbolic of the walk that women and children make every single day to collect unsafe water.
The event is open to people of all ages and is dog-friendly.
Water Mission is a “nonprofit Christian engineering organization providing sustainable safe water and sanitation solutions for people in developing countries and disaster areas.”
