I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest:

  1. On Monday, April 9th, from 6 pm to 9 pm, Lewis Barbecue will kick off their patio season with a spicy spring pop-up featuring Short Grain and Lewis Barbecue’s Juan Luis. Cannonborough Bev Co, Holy City Handcraft, and Beam Suntory will be taking over the bar.
  2. Wild Dunes Resort announced that Eli Driscoll has joined the team as mixologist at the resort’s premier restaurant, Coastal Provisions. Most recently serving as a mixologist at Prohibition, Driscoll will work alongside Mixologist Sean O’Brien.
  3. Recently opened Basic Kitchen is working on an extensive list of events – everything from special dinners to pop-up markets to on-site mediation –  and they’ve recently announced the first batch.
    • Cleaner Fuel, Longer Distances: The restaurant has teamed up with Longevity Fitness to bring Cooper River Bridge Runners a week of race prep next week. From Monday, April 2 through Saturday, April 7, they will feature daily specials designed to help runners prep for and recover from their run; as well as offering a program that includes daily emails with tips on nutrition and exercise, a daily juice or smoothie, and a special race day treat for participants. You can see all the details here.
    • Crafter’s Coven: From 9 am to 3 pm on Saturday, April 8, the Basic Kitchen parking lot will be filled with over 40 local artisans, makers, crafters, and thrifters for a special edition of the Crafter’s Coven Market.
    • Spring Ayurvedic Dinner: On Tuesday, April 17, Basic Kitchen are kicking off a seasonal Ayurvedic Dinner Series with an intimate, interactive dinner experience in the back courtyard. They’ve joined forces with local Ayurvedic Health Counselor Caryn O’Hara to design a multi-course dinner focusing on the Spring season, that will giving participants the opportunity to discover what it means to eat Ayurvedic. You can get more details here.
  4. On Thursday, April 5th, The Watch Rooftop Kitchen & Spirits at The Restoration, will host Blackberry Farm for a beer dinner starting at 6:30 pm. A Blackberry Farm rep will be on hand to discuss the beer pairings featured and talk to guests about the brewery and production at Blackberry Farm. Chef Jordan Moore of The Watch has prepared a special menu featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients. Tickets are $65 per person, and can be purchased online at Eventbrite. You can see the menu here.
