Women Veterans Health and Resource Fair in North Charleston
The Charleston Vet Center, along with the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center, is hosting a Women Veterans Health and Resource Fair in North Charleston on Friday, March 30, 1 – 4 p.m. at the Charleston Vet Center located at 3625 West Montague Ave.
Female Veterans and their family members are invited to come out and receive information on the services available at both the Charleston Vet Center and The Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center. Vet Center staff will be available to discuss readjustment and transitional needs, and to connect Veterans to VA and community resources.
Charleston VA Medical Center’s Women’s Health Program Manager will be on-site, along with information from the VA’s MOVE! Weight Management Program, Transition Care Management, Minority Veterans Program, Military Sexual Trauma, Suicide Prevention and Behavioral Health.
Community groups will also be in attendance providing health and mental health screenings; employment, education and wellness resource information; chair massages and make-up demonstrations; music and aromatherapy; and, fire and safety demonstrations.
Veterans are highly encouraged to bring a copy of their DD214 (discharge paperwork) to assist in determining eligibility for services. All available services support Veterans in making positive readjustment from military to civilian life.
