  2. The Taylor Festival Choir will present a concert entitled “Liturgical Elegance” at
    3 pm, April 29th at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The concert will feature a performance of Herbert Howell’s beloved Requiem Mass, Henryk Gorecki’s Totus Tuus, and motets by
    John Sheppard, Jacob Handl, Ko Matsushita, and Einojuhani Rautavaara. The Howell’s
    Requiem and Gorecki’s Totus Tuus stand as two of the 20th century’s greatest
    masterworks for unaccompanied choir. Click here for more info.
  3. Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA) board chairman Mike Seekings and S.C. Sen. Marlon Kimpson were among nine individuals honored by the Transportation Association of South Carolina (TASC) during its annual excellence awards ceremony this month. Click here for more info.
  4. Redux Contemporary Art Center will present “The Rainbow Show,” a group exhibition highlighting the work of Charleston based artists Adam Eddy, Susan Klein, and Joshua Lynn. The Rainbow Show plays on the thematic nature of the color spectrum as represented in three individual practices. The symbol of a rainbow, and its associated connotations, is presented in varying forms throughout the exhibition, allowing the viewer to freely connect with the beauty and playfulness of this iconic symbol.   5. The Volvo Car Open has extended two of its five main draw wild cards to Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Andrea Petkovic. They join a deep field that includes Caroline Garcia, Johanna Konta, Sloane Stephens, Petra Kvitová, Madison Keys, Daria Kasatkina, Julia Goerges, Naomi Osaka and more in the Charleston, South Carolina. The Volvo Car Open will take place March 31 – April 8, 2018 at the Family Circle Tennis Center.
  6. LimRic Plumbing, Heating & Air’s “Give Back Grant” recipients for March are The Bread Basket and Ronald McDonald House Charities. The Give Back Grant is a monthly donation of $500 to local nonprofit organizations. The $500 checks were presented to these two 501(c)(3) nonprofits on Wednesday, March 27th.
