The Volvo Car Open is proud to partner with Prudential Financial, Inc. for the sixth consecutive year, providing active-duty and retired military personnel and their families complimentary admission to the Volvo Car Open on Military Appreciation Night, Thursday, April 5th at 7 pm.

The night will honor the brave military members who serve our country in the Armed Forces. Activities include a Color Guard presentation by Joint Base Charleston and the singing of the National Anthem by an active-duty military member. Colonel Jeffrey W. Nelson, the Commander of the 628th Air Base Wing and Joint Base Charleston, will perform the coin toss.

“We are proud to host the men and women who serve our country at the Volvo Car Open,” said Bob Moran, Tournament Director of the Volvo Car Open. “We feel fortunate to have a great partner in Prudential who honors our military day in and day out, and shares our enthusiasm for showing respect to this deserving group of individuals.”

Twenty military affiliated groups are attending, and include Vet Friends, National Guard Veteran Advisors, Palmetto Military Support Group, Military Community Connection, Veterans on Deck, Women in Defense and many more.

In addition, Prudential has partnered with Palmetto Warrior Connection and College of Charleston to offer professional development workshops and a hiring fair for veterans, military members who have completed active duty, or soon will, and their families.

There will also be a hiring fair on April 4th where more than 20 Lowcountry employers will be present to recruit military talent.

“Making the transition from the military to civilian life is a difficult time for many veterans, particularly in translating their skills from the military to those that are traditionally sought in the civilian sector,” said Charles Sevola, vice president and head of Veterans Initiatives at Prudential. “Palmetto Warrior Connection, the College of Charleston and our other local partners have embraced this annual effort to help transitioning servicemen and women by giving them the tools that we know will help them achieve professional success, financial security and peace of mind. Together, we are reaching more people each year, are helping veterans translate their military experience to meet the needs for civilian jobs We welcome corporations who want to join us in this important work.”
