Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series Kicks Off June 1 at James Island County Park

The popular Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series is returning to the James Island Country Park starting on Friday, June 1st.

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission (CCPRC) will host the Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars in the first performance of the series. Gates open at 7:30 pm and music begins at 8:30 pm.

The Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars are known as one of the foremost reggae bands of the Southeast. Formed in Ohio in 1987, the band has included members from all over the world and opened for some of the biggest bands in music. This multicultural band is known for its unique sound and distinctive style.

Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series is open to all ages. Attendees are encouraged to come out with a chair or blanket and relax during an outdoor show at James Island County Park. Food is available on site. Crafters and vendors will also be on site with souvenirs available for purchase. Advance tickets are not available, and admission is $10 per person at the gate. Gold pass holders and kids 12 and under are free. Concerts will take place rain or shine.

The 2018 Reggae Nights Summer Concert Series lineup is:

  • June 1st: Ras Bonghi Reggae All Stars
  • June 22nd: with NDKA
  • July 20th: Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band
  • August 3rd: Mystic Vibrations – Canceled
  • August 24 with Amani Smith and the Give Thanks Band

James Island County Park is located at 871 Riverland Drive.

    Are there going to be anymore reggae shows in the park in August 2018
