Live 5 News Anchors Debi Chard and Bill Sharpe being Inducted into Southeast Emmy Silver Circle
The Southeast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will be inducting WCSC Live 5 News anchors Bill Sharpe and Debi Chard into their Silver Circle. The induction ceremony will take place at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead in Atlanta on Friday, September 7th. It will be the first time that anchors will be inducted as a team.
The Gold & Silver Circle is one of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Southeast Chapter’s most prestigious awards, honoring a lifetime of dedication to the television industry.
“Debi has been with our station 42 years and Bill for 44 years,” Dan Cates, Vice President and General Manager of WCSC, said in a press release. “The two of them have been anchoring our top-rated newscasts together since 1990, so it makes perfect sense for them to receive this incredible award together.”
Established in 1989, the Gold & Silver Circles honor a lifetime of dedication to the television industry. This prestigious award is reserved for those who persevere in an industry known for change. Inductees for the Silver Circle have at least 25 years of experience. These leaders join an impressive group of industry professionals who have helped shape the past, present, and continue to influence the future of the broadcast industry.
