Respite Care Charleston In Need of Volunteers
Looking for a local volunteer opportunity? Respite Care Charleston is a non-profit organization that provides social day programs for individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Participants enjoy engaging activities such as music therapy, art therapy, gentle exercise, brain games, and pet therapy. Family caregivers can benefit from a much-needed break while their loved ones enjoy an activity filled day.
Their West Ashley location is in need of volunteers! They are located at Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church (3075 Bees Ferry Road). The program takes place every Monday and Wednesday
The following volunteer opportunities are available:
- General program volunteers who are responsible for socializing with participants and assisting them with activities
- Activity-specific volunteers: musicians, dancers, singers, gardeners, artisits, etc. who can lead an activity or entertain our group
