Job Hiring Mobile App Launches in Charleston; Uses Video Entries for Service Job Seekers, Hiring Managers
Press Release
–
A brand-new, locally engineered mobile iPhone and Android app hopes to change the way service industry professionals apply to and are recruited for jobs.
PYNOT (Put Your Name Out There) is designed to bring efficiency to hiring. Job seekers can browse the app for relevant job positions and apply with a 30- or 60-second video, produced right on their own phones.
The app allows hiring managers to find qualified candidates with a click of a button. The app services industries that rely on recruiting employees with special skills: food and beverage, sales, health, beauty, fitness, retail, customer service, and any other job where passion, personality or skill could be put on display.
Hiring managers then view the applicants’ video entries to determine who merits a face-to-face meeting. Initial recruiting can be done from anywhere, which saves managers time. The app also includes a feature that allows employers to list an unlimited number of questions. It is free for job seekers and costs $99 per year for employers. There is also a referral program.
“Big job boards are expensive and recruiting the right talent is time consuming,” said Chris Nichols, CEO of PYNOT. “We’ve heard too many stories about no-show interviewees, or people who in reality have none of the skills or behaviors they indicated on their resume.”
Adds Nichols: “Video is a big part of our culture today, and we wanted to find a way to weave it into the job search experience.”
Tillson Galloway, a prodigy currently studying at Georgia Tech, did the coding of the app locally. Brink Norton designed the app.
