Leftovers: Tidbits from the Food & Bev Community (10/12/18)
I created the “Leftovers” series to ensure I could share as much food and bev news as possible, so here’s the latest:
- Glowfisch Hospitality has chosen Saturday, October 13th as Hurricane Florence Relief Day. If you dine with any of their restaurants (Five Loaves Cafe, Sesame Burgers, and Ember Wood Fired Kitchen) from open to close on 10/13 and order their “Florenencewich” (at Five Loaves), “Florence Burger” (at Sesame), or “Florence Pizza” (Ember), they will donate 100% of proceeds to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Program.
– - On Monday, October 15th, Stems & Skins will host a joint pop-up featuring snacks from Kwei Fei, vintage women’s clothes from Present and the Future, and wine pairings. Click here for more info!
– - On Tuesday, October 23rd, Commonhouse Aleworks + Five Loaves will partner for a Beer Dinner. The event costs $55 per person and includes a six course meal with beer pairings. Space is limited, reserve your spot by calling the restaurant at 843-804-9410.
– Starting now through Saturday, November 17th, SOL Southwest Kitchen & Tequila Bar in Mt. Pleasant, Summerville, and Downtown Charleston will be raising money to help local women fighting breast cancer. SOL’s Kitchen Karma program will partner with SOS Lowcountry, a local charity that provides assistance and support to breast cancer patients from diagnosis to recovery.
Through the Kitchen Karma partnership, SOL’s three Charleston area locations will donate a portion of all Milagro Margaritas and Milagro Cocktails sold to SOS Lowcountry.
SOS Lowcountry is an all-volunteer nonprofit helping local breast cancer patients pay for their transportation costs, groceries, childcare, utility bills, wigs and more. To learn more about SOS Lowcountry and their mission, please visit http://soslowcountry.org/.
