Palmetto Carriage Works Collecting Toys for “Stuff a Carriage” Campaign

Published

on

On Sunday, November 25th, Palmetto Carriage Works will host its annual “Stuff a Carriage” campaign to collect toys for needy children. Free carriage rides will be given in exchange for a new unwrapped toy.

Tours leave from 8 Guignard Street in downtown Charleston and will run from 9 am to 4 pm. Last year, the carriage company gave 200 free tours and collected nearly 300 toys.

“Giving back to the community is a top priority and we are thankful to be able to host the toy drive again this year,” company spokesperson Victoria Moore said.

Carriages fill up quickly, so guests are encouraged to come early or make a reservation. Parking will be offered for free in their lot on the corner of Anson and Pinckney Street. For more information, call 843-723-8145 or visit www.palmettocarriage.com.

Palmetto Carriage Works will host other community outreach events this season including Jingle Bell rides for the Children’s Museum of the Lowcountry and Christmas Sleigh Rides for many neighborhoods in the Charleston area.

Established in 1972, Palmetto Carriage Works is the oldest carriage company in historic Charleston. Still family-owned and operated, the company offers horse and mule-drawn carriage tours of Charleston’s historic district.
