Orkin Charleston Team Volunteers with My Sister’s House
Recently, more than 20 volunteers from the Orkin Charleston branch arrived at My Sister’s House emergency shelter, where they spent the day working to paint, clean, and update the shelter. The timing of the activities was especially meaningful because it gave the women and children a fresh new look to their temporary home before the holidays.
Chief Executive Director, Tosha Connors, welcomed the Orkin volunteers and Rollins, Inc. management before the day’s activities. Connors remarked, “The women, children and our staff are excited and thankful for the updates and refresh to the shelter that the Orkin volunteers provided”.
The day included time from the Orkin technicians and local management from the Charleston branch, as well as management representatives from the parent group Rollins, Inc. based in Atlanta. Don Richards, Orkin Region Manager, stated “Giving back to our communities is an important value of our company. We are honored to volunteer our time to such a special organization that aids women and children of the Charleston community when they are experiencing a particularly difficult time.”
Cyndi Schnabel, Charleston Branch Manager, also commented, “Our branch was eager for the opportunity to come together and give back to the community. The team discussed it and decided that by volunteering at My Sister’s House we would know that we were supporting an important cause and making the shelter more welcoming for these families as the holidays approach.”
