Fresh Future Farm & Basic Kitchen to Host Documentary Screening & Dinner
On Wednesday, December 12th, Basic Kitchen, in collaboration with Fresh Future Farm, will host a screening of the preview for the upcoming feature-length documentary Rooted, which follows the journey of Germaine Jenkins, founder of Fresh Future Farm. The event will be held at 2008 Success Street from 6 pm to 9 pm.
In 2014, Jenkins founded Fresh Future Farm in response to the complete lack of fresh produce available to community members. Since then, Jenkins has not only built a grocery, working farm, and teaching garden, she has created jobs and taught young ones how to compost, bringing positivity and progress to no bounds.
The evening will feature a seated family-style dinner in the farm’s greenhouse and all proceeds go directly to the farm and, in turn, the surrounding community. Part of the evening will be outdoors, so bring a layer!
