CHS Music Hall Hosts Benefit Concert for Deaf and Blind Students in SC

The South Carolina School of the Deaf and the Blind (SCSDB) Foundation will host, “Sounds of the Heart with Mandy Harvey,” a benefit concert event on Thursday, April 18th at the Charleston Music Hall. Harvey is a deaf singer and songwriter, and former finalist on America’s Got Talent best known for winning Simon Cowell’s “golden buzzer.”

The show will be hosted by Mayor John Tecklenberg and will include performances from the school’s choir alongside Harvey. All proceeds will go toward the SCSDB Foundation.

“We are trying to teach and model the belief that your visual or hearing disabilities do not limit your ability to become the person you choose to be. Executive Director of the SCSDB Foundation, Sam Hook, said. “Mandy Harvey is an excellent example of this.”

A pre-show cocktail and meet and greet will take place at 6 pm in the Charleston Music Hall lobby for VIP attendees, with the doors for the show opening at 6:30 pm. Tickets are now available online and will be available to purchase at the door at no additional cost.
