South Carolina Aquarium Announces Spring Break: Passport to Fun
Press Release
The South Carolina Aquarium today announced “Passport to Fun: Spring Break at the Aquarium.” Visit the Aquarium March 23 – April 21 to journey from the mountains to the sea to find ongoing activities around every corner and to collect stamps in the passport. A jam-packed schedule of more than 100 activities will keep visitors engaged for hours, including hands-on projects and animal encounters, feedings, and enrichment.
Guests will come face-to-face with many of the creatures that make South Carolina special with daily animal interaction opportunities. Children and adults alike will enjoy educational animal programs. Vet staff will perform animal check-up exams during Wellness Wednesdays at 10 a.m. in the McNair Surgical Suite within the Sea Turtle Care Center, which is open to the public.
Visitors can discover the different regions of South Carolina and explore its unique landscapes with the interactive Passport to Fun. Everyone who visits the Aquarium can pick up a special map, then complete the hands-on activity in each gallery to get a stamp. There is something fun around every corner from the mountains to the coast.
More than 4,000 animals reside at the South Carolina Aquarium, which is a lot of mouths to feed! During spring break, guests may view additional feeding demonstrations with animals like river otters and sea turtles. Feeding schedule will change daily, and a comprehensive feeding schedule will be available at the Information Desk. Visitors can also watch as animal caregivers will provide Aquarium residents with enrichment items. Enrichment includes fun toys for the animals to play with and puzzles to solve—then, viewers will enjoy celebrating as the animals discover treats inside.
Additional pop-up experiences are scheduled daily. For more information including full schedules about Spring Break: Passport to Fun at the South Carolina Aquarium, visit scaquarium.org/springbreak.
