Charleston Woodlands Celebrates Grand Opening with 5th Annual Charleston Bluegrass Festival

Charleston Woodlands, the Lowcountry’s newest outdoor gathering place and recreational destination, invites the public to its Grand Opening celebration featuring the Fifth Annual Charleston Bluegrass Festival on March 29th and 30th.

“We are excited to introduce Charleston Woodlands to the public during the Charleston Bluegrass Festival,” Andrew Walker, Director of Development & Operations at Charleston Woodlands, said. “It is the perfect event for visitors to experience all that we have to offer with this incredible place, which we like to call ‘Charleston’s backyard.'”

The 6,000-acre space features a variety of venues for special occasions such as weddings, private gatherings, and company retreats. Charleston Woodlands also offers scenic outdoor recreational opportunities like hiking, biking, horseback riding, and paddling. There are 11 freshwater lakes, a black water swamp, and vast forests throughout the property.

The Charleston Bluegrass Festival is the venue’s first major public event and brings two full days of national and regional bluegrass acts performing on three stages. The setting includes an expansive green space overlooking Lake Charleston, the largest lake on property. Musical acts include: Chatham County Line, Town Mountain, Jon Stickley Trio, Circus No. 9, Rachel Baiman, The Dirty Grass Players, West King String Band, Sally & George, and many more.

The festival also feature a diverse selection of local food and beverage options, along with family-friendly camping accommodations. Ticket prices range from $5 to $30, with children five and under receiving free admission.
