Accent On Wine & More Fits Ideally In North Charleston’s Olde Village
It’s The Little More That Makes This Park Circle Wine Shop More Appealing
By: Jeff Walker, Business Review
From unpretentious to eclectic, and from bold to lighthearted, Accent On Wine & More in Park Circle has a fruit of the vine that appeals to a wide variety of wine lovers. Perhaps more importantly, whether you’re looking for an affordable bottle or something more high end, Accent On Wine has you covered on both sides of your wallet.
A sister site to their downtown Summerville location, Accent On Wine & More in Park Circle opened in 2015 to much fanfare. With the Olde Village of North Charleston continuing to grow by both business and residential standards, the addition of a laid back wine shop was welcome by business and home owners east of Park Circle on Montague Avenue.
Far from a alcohol superstore or a haughty downtown Charleston purveyor, Accent On Wine in North Charleston reflects the neighborhood, presenting themselves as the easy going wine shop where everyone is welcome, from the wine connoisseur to the novice just looking to pick up a nice bottle, or enjoy the ambiance the shop has to offer.
While many of the low country wine sellers host wine tastings after work on Friday, Accent On Wine & More invites guests to drop in Wednesdays from 6-8pm to enjoy their weekly samplings. With over 400 plus wines available for sale at Accent, they offer up a wide variety during their mid week gatherings. If wine is not your thing, than Accent caters to brew lovers, carrying over four dozen beers, with four always on tap. They guarantee to keep something fresh and exciting in their cooler for guests to try, love, or take home.
Not a heavy eater, or maybe just looking for a place for a nice couples night out. Pop in to Accent, enjoy a glass of wine and share a charcuterie plate (fancy name for meat & cheese tray). A nice selection of some of the best cured meats including salami, sausage, ham, and smoked salmon accompanied with aged cheeses, deli style bread, and house made mustard, all adorned with fresh or dried fruits, veggies, and nuts. It’s a cornucopia of hand held treats to complement your wine or beer of choice. Take it from me, the mustard is a ‘must’!
Accent On Wine & More Park Circle is a cozy little nook with a few bar stools and fewer tables unless you happen to venture into the bohemian style café’ slash patio out back. Should you commune there with friends you’ll immediately be transported to a utopian state of mind. From time to time you’ll catch the occasional singer songwriter sending up tunes at Accent, but mostly it’s just a really cool place to hang out, enjoy fruit of the vine, a cold draft, finger foods, and great conversation.
Owner John Schaefer likes to say ‘Accent On Wine & More is a wine shop that makes sense’. No matter your preference, whether you lean towards red or white, fruity or dry, light or full bodied, adventurous or smooth, Accent On Wine at Park Circle has a wine for you. Beer lovers will revel in light, dark, IPA’s, lagers and more.
It’s all about the more at Accent On Wine & More, and this friendly little shop just might be the more you’ve been searching for. The accent may be on wine but there is much more happening at 1056 East Montague Avenue in North Charleston. Looking for something high brow without the exuberance, ask about their monthly wine club. Open Monday – Wednesday 10 AM – 9 PM Thursday-10 AM – 10 PM, Friday & Saturday 10 AM – 11 PM. Discover more on their website at https://www.accentwinepc.com/
