Local Children, Chefs Partner to Cook Healthy Five-Course Meal at Fundraiser

Mentors with healthy habits and attitudes are key to the success of Louie’s Kids, and that’s the motivation behind their annual Little Chef/Big Chef event.

The local charity focused on healthy habits for life will host its 12th annual fundraiser on Monday, June 24th from 7 pm to 10 pm at Halls Signature Events. All proceeds will support Louie’s Kids in their efforts to help prevent and treat childhood obesity and promote a healthy, productive lifestyle.

The event’s guests will experience five courses prepared by five all-star Charleston chefs and their partnering “little chefs,” recruited from the non-profit. Robyn Guisto of Halls Management Group will serve as host chef. Joining Guisto are chefs Marc Collins of Circa 1886, Bob Cook of Edmund’s Oast, Will Fincher of Obstinate Daughter, and Richard “Chip” Plaistowe of Halls Management Group.

Each child-chef team will present their dishes to guests; wine and beer pairings will accompany each dish courtesy of the evening’s sponsors. Tickets are available for guests who elect not to consume alcohol.

Tickets are available for $240 per person ($175 no-alcohol ticket), which includes five courses, beer and wine at each course, tax and gratuity. Purchase tickets and make reservations by calling (843) 724-3808, Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Purchasing tickets early is strongly encouraged, as attendance is limited to 80 guests.
