Captain’s Comics & Toys Giving Away 4,000 Comics on Free Comic Book Day
Free Comic Book Day returns to Charleston on Saturday, May 4th, and Captain’s Comics and Toys is planning their biggest year ever. Starting at 8 am, Captain’s Comics will have a selection of over 60 different comics available, and each person who comes out can choose three free books from a selection of comics for kids and adults.
The day includes:
- Over 4,000 free comic books
- Highlighted titles include:
- Marvel’s Spider-Man: Absolute Carnage
- Stranger Things, Bob’s Burgers, and Firefly
- Under the Moon: A Catwoman Story
- Captain’s will also have a limited-edition, exclusive cover for DC Villain’s Special
- Highlighted titles include:
- Sales
- Captain’s will fill the giant tent in the parking lot with an all-new selection of $1 comics and highly discounted graphic novels
- Inside the store will be great deals on Star Wars figures, Marvel, and DC super hero figures, statues, older comics, Funko Pops, and much more
- Regional comic book artists
- Shawn Durington will be on hand sketching, selling prints, and showing off his hand-made monster puppets
- Charleston artist Marcus Cripps will have prints and original sketches of your favorite characters from comic book and pop culture worlds
- Carolina Caricatures will be on hand to immortalize you as a cartoon super hero, princess, or whatever your heart desires
Free Comic Book Day is a national program in which 50 comic book publishers unite to create all-new content to introduce new readers to their biggest and best comic book titles across 3,000+ local comic book stores. These books are sold to comic book stores at a discount and given out at the store level to bring old and new fans into their friendly local comic book store.
Free Comic Book Day will be hosted by Captain’s Comics and Toys from 8 am to 8pm on Saturday, May 4th at 1209-D Sam Rittenberg Blvd. Click here for more information.
