Lowcountry Celebrities to Perform in 4th Annual Lip Sync For Lungs Live Battle
The American Lung Association in South Carolina is hosting its fourth annual Lip Sync for Lungs Live Battle on Thursday, September 26th at Charleston Music Hall. This unique event features local celebrities in an entertaining live performance that raises funds to provide lung health programs in South Carolina and lung disease research.
This year’s Lip Sync for Lungs Live Battle IV performers include: Dr. Robert Beall, DMD (James Island Family, Cosmetic, & Implant Dentistry), Justin Edgar (Assistant General Manager, Hall’s Chophouse), Tim Newborn (Marketing Programs Manager, Customer Advocacy & Engagement, Blackbaud), Megan Rivers (Traffic Anchor & Multimedia Journalist, ABC News 4), and Dr. Marc Rucquoi (Hospitalist, Roper St. Francis Healthcare).
Celebrity judges slated for this year’s competition include Dr. W. Melvin Brown III, MD (Trident Medical Center), Mike Lata (FIG & The Ordinary), Susan Pearlstine Norton (Susan Pearlstine Sarcoidosis Center of Excellence & The Bend), and Kim Powell (The Woodhouse Day Spa).
Susan Pearlstine Norton, the Lip Sync For Lungs Live Battle III winner, is excited to be on the other side of the event as a judge. Pearlstine Norton, an avid singer, was robbed of her lung power and ability to sing due to sarcoidosis.
“I’m looking forward to judging,” she said. “It’s for a great cause. The more of us that are engaged and moving the barometer to help people with lung disease, the closer we are to improving lung health and preventing lung disease.”
