The 9th Annual Wonder Works Holiday Elfstravaganza is set for Saturday, November 9th, from 9 am to 2 pm, in the Belle Hall Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant. This year, event will be held in a new, larger event space behind PetSmart, on Egypt Road.

This free, family event kicks off the holiday season with free activities, holiday treats, and the hottest toys of the season. Plus, every child will leave with a free toy from Crazy Aaron’s Putty World.

“Our 9th Annual Elfstravaganza will bring more magic than ever before,” said Wonder Works owner, Christine Osborne. “This year, event goers can experience Carpool Karaoke from the popular segment of The Late Late Show with James Corden. Plus, Carl Zealer, founder of Nowstalgic Toys and Youtube and Instagram sensation, will be demoing his Squirmles, recently dubbed “worm on a string.”

Face painting, writing letters to Santa, decorating cookies, arts and crafts, and more free activities will be available all day for event goers. Of course, Elfstravaganza would not be complete without an appearance from Santa and Mrs. Claus. Families can hop on board the Santa Shuttle to be transported to Wonder Works to have their picture taken with Santa. The shuttle will be running for transport between Wonder Works and Elfstravaganza all day. Kids will enjoy live performances by local artists Southbound 17 and Hannah Burton, as well as pogo demonstrations by the X Pogo Stunt Team and a special debut of the Reindeer in Here Reindeer Rock.

National toy companies and local inventors will host toy testing with the hottest toys from Air Fort, Alex, b4 Adventure, Crazy Aaron’s Putty World, Educational Insights, Fat Brain, Fly Bar, Fun In Motion, Galexie Glister, HearthSong, Hog Wild, Island Genius, Kahootz, Kent Displays, Learning Resources, Marky Sparky, Nowstalgic, Plus-Plus, Reindeer in Here, Relevant Play, Singing Machine, Smart Games, Tiki Toss, Toysmith, and more. Kids can discover the magic of hands-on, creative play in the Melissa & Doug World of Wonder, where the toy makers will debut their newest imaginative play set: the Get Well Doctor Play Center.

Elfstravaganza will benefit three local charities. Hugs for Harper, founded in memory of the late Harper Drolet, will be raising money to find a cure for Pediatric Soft Tissue Cell Cancer. The Lonon Foundation will be hosting Letters to Santa and raising money to support their monthly program, UPLIFT, benefiting children whose parent or caregiver has cancer. Beyond BASIC will be raising money for their program that assists adults with intellectual disabilities in becoming contributing members of society by helping them develop living skills beyond the basics.

Harris Teeter will provide free cookies, treats, and drinks for everyone in attendance. Free parking will be located at SeaCoast Church, off Long Point Road.
