Stephen Colbert’s Sister Running For Congress
We didn’t get Charleston’s favorite son Stephen Colbert to run for office, but someone very close to him will be. Elizabeth Colbert Busch, Colbert’s older sister, announced on Friday that she will be a nominee for South Carolina’s First Congressional seat.
Senator Tim Scott recently vacated that House seat.
Former Governor Mark Sanford and Teddy Turner, son of Ted Turner, are also among the nominees running for the position. You can view the rest of the nominees HERE.
Colbert Busch, who will run as a Democrat, attended Bishop England High School and graduated from the College of Charleston. She currently works at Clemson University.
On a side note, Colbert-Busch pronounces the “t” in her last name, unlike her famous brother.
