Locals Ride Free at Palmetto Carriage Works on January 26th
On Sunday, January 26th, Palmetto Carriage Works will host its 10th annual “Locals Free Day.” All Charleston residents are invited to visit the Big Red Barn, meet the animals, and take a free ride. Tours leave from 8 Guignard Street in downtown Charleston and will run from 9 am to 4 pm.
Since the tradition started, Palmetto Carriage estimates they’ve given around 100,000 free tours to the Charleston Area residents for “Locals Free Day.”
“We really enjoy this day every year,” General Manager Tommy Doyle said. “It gives us a chance to spend time with the people who make Charleston the great city that it is. It also gives us the opportunity to show people around the barn and to show off our excellent Animal Welfare Program.”
Staff will be on hand to give tours of the barn and answer questions about how Palmetto Carriage Works cares for each horse and mule.
Tours and parking are first come, first serve. Carriages fill up quickly so guests are encouraged to come early. Parking will be offered in their lot on the corner of Anson and Pinckney Street. For more information, call 843-723-8145 or visit www.palmettocarriage.com.
