Wizard Pub Crawl Returns to Charleston in February

On Saturday, February 8th, Markster Con’s Wizard Pub Crawl returns to the Holy City for a magical evening of boozing and more.

Wizard Registry (registration) will start at Carolina Ale House (145 Calhoun St.) with attendees then moving at their own pace to other pub stops. This event will incorporate 6 pubs within walking distance in the historic King Street area. Attendees will move from pub to pub gaining “House Points” that will go towards a competition ending at Ink-N-Ivy later in the evening with a “Graduation Gathering” and After-Party.

Costumes are not required, but are highly encouraged with organizers expecting a high percentage of attendees to wear their “house colors.” Many may take it a step further by dressing as their favorite wizarding characters from their favorite fantasy-themed books or movies. Some will opt to wear their favorite wizard-themed outfit, t-shirts, or whatever they think best expresses their Wizarding House.

Registered attendees can expect exclusive  at each pub stop with names such as “Giggle Water,” “SlytherGin’,” “The Shot Which Shall Not Be Named,” and “Cherry Potter.” There will also be a Best Butter Brew Contest for those bars offering up their own recipe of the popular wizard drink to be voted on during the “Graduation Gathering.” Charleston Beer Works took 1st Place honors in 2019.

“Markster’s Wand Shop” will be at Mynt (135 Calhoun St.) with signature wands available for sale. Wizard Pub Crawl attendees who purchased “Early Sorcerer” tickets will pick out their wands there, with over 30 styles to choose from (availability based on first come, first serve basis). Multiple photo-ops, wizard-themed Snapchat filters, commemorative house-colored buttons, and house-colored event badges await all Wizard Pub Crawl attendees. During the “Graduation Gathering,” frameable Attendance Letters will be handed out to all participants who completed the crawl.
