Bill Murray Revisits “Groundhog Day” in Super Bowl Commercial
It’s déjà vu all over again as comedic legend, Charleston resident, and Recovery Room patron Bill Murray revisited his famous Groundhog Day role in a Super Bowl commercial for Jeep.
The spot, which debuted online before the big game, features Murray, his brother Brian Doyle-Murray, Stephen Tobolowsky, and others reprising their roles from the 1992 comedy film – with the notable addition of the new Jeep Gladiator. According to the company’s YouTube page, the advertisement was Murray’s first-ever national television commercial.
