On Saturday, March 21st, local nonprofit Going Places will host their inaugural gala, “Welcome to the Circus: Reliving your favorite childhood memory of Joy.” The event will provide the funds needed to support the organization’s programs and help buy bikes for disadvantaged kids.
The evening will consist of food, drinks, live and silent auctions, and live entertainment from Live Radio. Dinner will be provided along with entertainment by a mermaid from Deep Blue Aquatics, a magician from the Los Angeles Magic Castle, and other surprises.
Interested parties can buy tickets online here. The gala starts at 7 pm and will be held at the Patriots Point Pavilon at the Golf Links (1 Patriots Point Pavilion, Mt. Pleasant).
The event is for adults only, but there will be childcare available during the event, which you can signup for here. Childcare is being offered by Skip and Sully in Mt Pleasant, which will donate 25% back to Going Places.
About Going Places
Going Places’ mission is to provide disadvantaged kids with their most basic childhood right – A right to Joy. They do that by surprising every child in the low-income, high-poverty elementary schools with a brand new, high quality, custom bike. This bike represents Joy, freedom, escape, ownership, and restored innocence in these children’s lives. By the beginning of June, Going Places will have given 2060 bikes to disadvantaged kids in 3 years’ time. Going Places is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
