Published

on

Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, Sandy Tecklenburg, Audrey Whetsell (CEO and Founder of The Medi), and Reverend Dr. Krystal Sears (Greater St. Luke AME Church pastor) will take part in the second annual “Red Dress Sunday” service in honor of Heart Health Awareness Month at 10 am on Sunday, February 16th at Greater St. Luke AME Church, located at 78 Gordon Street.

The initiative is sponsored by The Medi, a Charleston-based nonprofit dedicated to connecting people to an array of social and medical services, to raise awareness of heart disease among women. Sandy Tecklenburg is serving as Honorary Chair for the month-long initiative.

Numerous houses of worship are participating in this initiative by encouraging their congregants to wear red as part of the national Red Dress Sunday campaign and engaging in prevention and awareness events.
