New Sun’s Out Pale Ale Brewed by Rusty Bull to Benefit Charleston County Parks Foundation

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission’s (CCPRC) non-profit partner, the Charleston County Parks Foundation, has joined forces with Rusty Bull Brewing Company to help raise funds. The brewery has created the new Sun’s Out Pale Ale in support of the non-profit, which helps area residents gain access to county parks and services.

Sun’s Out Pale Ale will be sold at select Charleston County Parks’ events, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to benefit the foundation. The first event at which it will be available is The Reckoning in the Park, a concert event with Grateful Dead tribute band The Reckoning held at James Island County Park on Sunday, March 8th. The event is free with park admission and the Sun’s Out Pale Ale will be available for purchase.

According to Rusty Bull Brewing Company, the new beer is a classic pale ale, crisp with a touch of hops, and pairs well with a day on the water, good times with friends and concerts in the park. It has a light body and slight bitterness coupled with choice malts to create a refreshing, well-balanced ale. Sun’s Out Pale Ale is 4.9% alcohol by volume. A nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization, the Charleston County Parks Foundation was created in May 1990 by CCPRC. The vision of the Charleston County Parks Foundation is to develop and sustain projects that enable people to access CCPRC’s facilities, programs and services for living an active and healthy lifestyle. The foundation currently supports four projects. The Genesis Project’s vision is to eliminate the number of drowning victims in Charleston County by providing the community with access to pools for swimming lessons, water safety classes, recreational programming and leisure activities. The Pass It Forward project was adopted to provide opportunities for all members of our community who encounter barriers to access our park facilities, programs and services. The McLeod Plantation Historic Site Project supports cultural and historical research, preservation, interpretation and education for diverse audiences with an emphasis on underrepresented histories at this site and throughout Charleston County Parks. And, the SK8 Forward project introduces the sport of skateboarding to youth who may not have the opportunity to experience the sport due to financial limitations.
