HBO’s “The Righteous Gemstones” Seeking “Very Specific” Types to Work as Extras

A local casting agency is currently accepting submissions for those interested in working as paid extras on the second season of “The Righteous Gemstones,” a HBO show starring Danny McBride, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, and Adam DeVine. In addition to the show’s many general extras casting needs, the series is seeking some very specific requests.

The following are needed:

• 25 MUSCULAR MALES
  • Competitive Body Builders, Power Lifters, Males with very large muscles. Ages 20’s -30’s. These males will be needed for numerous days of filming throughout the season
• Mid 50’s -Mid 60’s PERIOD VEHICLES
  • Should be running and in decent shape. Do not need to be show cars. Especially in need of several 4 Door Family Type cars. Include current photo of vehicle in submission
• LITTLE PEOPLE
  • Seeking 2 Males
• AFRICAN AMERICAN MALES
  • For a 1960’s Scene. 90 Males needed. Must have or be willing to have hair and facial hair adjusted to correctly reflect 60’s era. Film Date FRIDAY 3/13
• VERY TALL/LARGE MALE -Experienced WRESTLER preferred. Must have, or be willing to have, hair and facial hair reflective of 1960’s era
• IDENTICAL TWIN BABIES
  • Ages 5 -12 months of age
• GROUP MEETING MALES
  • Seeking Interesting Character Type Faces – seeking those that could portray everything from Down on Luck Pathetic to Dangerous looking types. Most should be middle age.

Submissions should include the following:

• 2 CURRENT Photos (close up and full length)
  • No sunglasses or hats
  • Photos can be taken with a cell phone.
• Name
• Age
• Phone (the prefer a cell phone in case they need to text)
• City/State you reside (anyone agreeing to film must be willing to work as a local hire to the Charleston area)
• Height/Weight, Complete Clothing Sizes
• Description of any visible tattoos & piercings
• Color/Make/Model/Year Vehicle or Vehicles you drive (in case they can use your vehicle for filming as well)
• Any actual Job Experience you think they may need an experienced person to portray.
  • Examples -Police Officer/Military, Paramedics, Nurse/Doctor, Professional Musician (include instrument you play) Singer (include experience) Bartender/Server/Cook/Chef, Dancer, etc

The Righteous Gemstones is a half-hour comedy series created by McBride, who wrote, directed, executive produced, and acted in the show. The entire first season was filmed in the Charleston area.

The series tells the story of the world-famous Gemstone televangelist family, which has a long tradition of deviance, greed, and charitable work, all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
