South Carolina Aquarium Launches Virtual Visits
The following is an announcement from the South Carolina Aquarium:
Even though the South Carolina Aquarium is closed to the public through at least March 31, 2020, we want to stay connected to our community! Children and adults alike are looking for stimulating activities to do while COVID-19 is keeping everyone cooped up. In keeping with our mission to connect people with water, wildlife and wild places, we’re offering virtual visits and programming through our award-winning education team.
Everyone is welcome to become a digital explorer and discover all of the complex habitats the Lowcountry has to offer, and the fascinating animals that call it home, guided by an educator trained in STEM-based learning. Interact with us as we move through the Aquarium and participate in online activities to keep the community engaged and involved. Programming includes a twice-daily stream of fun and educational programming. Starting Wednesday, March 18, we encourage the community to visit our Facebook page at 10 am and 2 pm Eastern Standard Time, Monday through Friday for live educational programming.
Stay tuned in for new and additional offerings starting next week, including a daily Nature Challenge, our virtual “Passport to Fun” and a much-needed Moment of Zen. Visit our Virtual Visits page on our website for the full and updated schedule and information on how to access the live-stream or see archived programs: scaquarium.org/virtualvisits.
If the community would like to support our Aquarium team in keeping our programming and animal care going strong, please support our Emergency Relief Fund at scaquarium.org/relief.
