Burwell’s Pivots to Affordable Prepared Meals & Grocery Delivery to Combat COVID-19

Press Release

Like all other restaurants across the country Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill has faced serious hardships and challenges due to COVID-19. The government has allowed restaurants to continue operating, provided they limit their services to takeout and delivery. Many restaurants have signed up for third party delivery services, which requires the business to pay a percentage of the sales.

The current environment makes the traditional restaurant model no longer viable. Therefore, Burwell’s has shifted its focus to prepared meals and grocery delivery. With a continued focus on food service to the community, the former (and future) steakhouse wants to do its part to help “flatten the curve.”

“As someone in my mid 50’s, a virus like this concerns me,” John Thomas, owner and operator of Burwell’s Stone Fire Grill, said. “As a business owner, the future of the hospitality industry and its people concerns me even more. Grocery stores are running out of product, and confirmed cases are growing exponentially. We see this as an opportunity to provide value to our community, help keep people safe by encouraging social distancing, and keep our staff employed. Focusing on delivery helps us do our part to flatten the curve.”

You can order online from https://www.burwellscharleston.com/online-ordering or by calling 843-737-8700.

Pick up is available between 12 pm to 6 pm. Deliveries will be made from 3 pm to 6 pm. The restaurant asked that you order by 3 pm for same day deliveries.
