Before I Die…

Redux Contemporary Art Center and Nicole Diefenbach, an account executive at the Charleston City Paper, have teamed up for a pretty cool project that was unveiled on Saturday at the center’s downtown headquarters. They debuted a mural called “Before I Die…” which was based on Candy Chang’s New Orleans project of the same name. The mural is on one side of the Redux building on St. Philip Street. The wall is entirely covered by chalkboard and Holy City visitors are invited to participate!

The gallery describes the project as an “interactive public art project where we can discover the ambitions of the people around us.” Pictures will be taken of the mural on a weekly basis, the wall will be erased, and the project starts over. It will be on display until December 30, 2011, so be sure to go check it out, pick up some chalk and participate in the project!
