Folly Beach is holding a special council meeting discussing a referendum that could ban alcohol on the beach for good. The meeting is currently underway. I’ll update as news breaks…

Sorry for the delay, but here’s the latest..
The Folly Beach City Council passed the first reading on the alcoholic drinking ordinance. The goal, of course, is to ban booze on Folly Beach for good. The next reading will be Wednesday (7/18/12) and the third will be at some point this month. As long as the ordinance is finalized by August 5th, it can be put on the November ballot.
