Fire at Bowens Island Restaurant

Published

on

A fire destroyed a building associated with Bowens Island Restaurant early this morning (Monday). The section that burned down was where the location’s famed oysters are cooked.

Details about the 1 am fire are scarce, but we do know no one was hurt and the main part of the restaurant was not damaged.

This isn’t the first fire involving the restaurant or its owner. Live 5 News mentioned a fire in August of 2011 severely damaged the owner’s (Robert Barber) home. Plus, a fire destroyed the entire restaurant in 2006.

Live 5 News and ABC News 4 (includes video) have more on the story.
