Old South Carriage Co. Offering Holiday “Sleigh” Rides
Old South Carriage Company will ring in the winter season with their Holiday “Sleigh” Rides where neighbors and visitors are invited to join in the holiday fun and climb aboard the seasonally-transformed carriages, driven by Santa’s caroling elves.
The 20-minute ride includes a Christmas carol sing-along as the horse-drawn carriage travels through downtown. The tour’s last stop is Santa’s Stable (located behind the Old South Carriage Stable Barn). Guests will be joined by Old St. Nick, Mrs. Claus, and Rudolph for hot cocoa and cookies.
Tours are running until Christmas Eve.

Dear Old South Carriage Company,
I am disappointed in your holiday caroling “sleigh” rides. They look like fun, but
rather than offering an affordable holiday family activity, you are providing an experience only the wealthy or the vacationers can afford. As a former horse owner I understand a small part of how expensive your business must be to run, but $30 a person (over 2 yrs old) for a 20 minute ride is just too much for most people.
My granddaughters have begged to go for a ride when they’ve seen carriages on our little excursions downtown (I am their “day care”), and I’ve told them I hope I can take them one day. I was thinking this would be an affordable and super fun alternative to the regular ride. Sadly, it’s very cost prohibitive! You are missing a golden opportunity to do something nice for your community. I’m not saying they should be free, but a good bit cheaper than $30.
I’m sure you won’t have any trouble filling the seats at the current ticket price with tourists, but locals with families and on a budget would like to participate too!
