ILA Local 1422 Union Endorses Pryor for Mayor of North Charleston
North Charleston Mayoral Candidate Teddie Pryor, Sr. today picked up the endorsement of The International Longshoremen Association (ILA) Local 1422. The state’s longest and oldest organized labor force voted unanimously to support Pryor’s bid to become the next Mayor of the City of North Charleston.
“Mr. Pryor’s work in equity and fairness, addressing livability and transportation issues, as well as his commitment to work with business leaders, unions, and other stakeholders positions him to be the most qualified candidate,” said Charles Brave, Jr., President of ILA Local 1422. “We look forward to working collaboratively with him and his administration to address issues and concerns affecting the city of North Charleston and the Lowcountry area.”
ILA Local 1422 was established in 1936 and controls cargo coming through the Charleston port.
“For generations the Local 1422 has played a key role in Lowcountry politics for a better quality of life for all citizens,” said Pryor. “I am honored to have the endorsement and support of such a profound and renowned group of politically engaged skilled leaders.”
