School Administrator and County Councilmember Endorses Pryor for Mayor of North Charleston
North Charleston Mayoral Candidate Teddie Pryor, Sr. has picked up the endorsement of North Charleston Education Administrator and fellow County Councilmember Henry E. Darby.
“I am endorsing Councilman Teddie Pryor, Sr. for the Office of the Mayor of the City of North Charleston,” Darby said. “Many outstanding things he has accomplished on Charleston County Council of which the general public is not privy to knowing. He initiated the crafting of a diversity policy – a first in the county’s 300+ years history; he provided for equity in the procure program of the county – particularly for women; he led the effort of the county hiring 100 high school students during summer months with no increase of taxes; he collaborated with state and local officials to land Boeing in Charleston county; he led the county’s financial team which traveled to New York to discuss with Standard & Poor’s, Moody’s, and Fitch Group to revisit the county’s credit which was AA+. Because of his leadership of the group, the bonding rate rose to AAA – a first in the county; the businesses, under his leadership as Chairman of Charleston County Council, which came to the county landed 10,834 jobs with a total investment of 2.7 billion dollars These are just a thumbnail of his many accomplishments. Having worked along with Councilman Pryor on Charleston County Council, I can confidently and rightfully say with his proven leadership and experience that he will be ready ‘Day-One’ to lead the City of North Charleston into a brighter future.”
“I am honored to have the endorsement and support of such a profound educator, community leader, and public servant,” said Teddie Pryor, Sr. “I look forward to collaborating with Mr. Darby on issues and concerns that he sees as pertinent to the residents, students, and families in North Charleston.”
