Two Blokes Brewing Announces New Ownership
Rhett, a graduate of Clemson University, and Haley, a graduate of Virginia Tech, recently relocated to Mt. Pleasant after Rhett’s time in the Marine Corps.
“Haley and I are looking forward to this next adventure with Two Blokes Brewing Company,” Rhett said. “We are beyond excited to make Mount Pleasant our home and establish ourselves in the community by carrying on the traditions and maintaining the reputation of great beer at Two Blokes. With the incredible team already in place, we’re looking to grow the business in the greater Charleston area.”
The brewery experienced tragedy in May of 2020 when sole owner Matty Symons passed away unexpectedly. Symons’ wife, Evelyn Kofler, took over the business and with the help of her loyal staff was able to keep the business going through the pandemic and beyond.
“I feel comforted that Two Blokes will continue to carry on my husband’s legacy by retaining its original name and location,” Kofler said. “When my husband passed during the pandemic, we had a tough decision – close the doors or try and make a go of it. My husband, an Australian, would have said ‘she’ll be right’. Our customers and staff wanted us to continue so we did. It’s been a hard road, but we made it. Now I’m looking forward to giving my full attention to my daughter and career.”
Two Blokes is open 7 days a week, has 18 beers on tap, and a rotating selection of food trucks. They offer a variety of workshops, trivia every Wednesday, and yoga and live music on the weekends. Their beer can also be found on tap throughout South Carolina.
